PropUp is an operations and facilities management platform for owners, managers, and service providers of residential real estate. PropUp integrates seamlessly with existing property management software, offering enhanced functionality for the maintenance and operation of real estate assets.
Offering inspections, work orders, turnover management and scheduling tools, the platform excels in managing and automating complex workflows for on-site teams, maintenance technicians, and services companies. From the first inspection to final approvals, and all the hand-offs in between, PropUp seamlessly manages it all.
While its initial GTM focused on only unit turnovers in multifamily real estate, PropUp’s fully customizable inspection tool has seen wider interest in real estate-adjacent industries like landscaping and insurance. PropUp facilitates collaboration and provides real-time visibility for stakeholders across the value chain. By centralizing workflow management and automating essential tasks, PropUp empowers every customer to improve efficiency and transparency in their operations.
In this blog post, we feature a Q&A with co-founder Will Gottfried, who shares insights into PropUp's development and the value proposition for real estate stakeholders, as well as an abridged version of their product demo.
Where did the idea for PropUp come from?
Will Gottfried: PropUp started from a need in my own multifamily portfolio. We had issues in our operation where certain workflows left the purview of the PMS, (think Yardi, Appfolio, RealPage, etc.) and instead went to analog systems like notepads and whiteboards, or Google Sheets and Excel trackers. We were losing time and money - really easily quantifiable money - to vacancy loss. And so we came up with what we call TurnFlow, which tracks everything that happens from the minute you give or receive notice on one of your units.
Who is PropUp’s target customer? Who else could benefit from PropUp’s functionality?
PropUp was initially multifamily OpTech, but what we found is it is widely applicable throughout every asset class of real estate ownership and management, and now into affiliated businesses as well. Think service businesses like landscaping or insurance, or anybody that has visibility/accountability needs, or regular inspection requirements.
If I’m a multifamily property manager, when do I open up PropUp? Where does a tradition PMS leave off and PropUp pick up?
A number of our features are year-round. You're going to use prop up every single day for inspections and work orders. On the unit turn side. If you're a multifamily or single-family owner/operator/manager, you're opening your PropUp tab as soon as you think about turning your desk chair around to the old make ready whiteboard. And you can then track those units every single day until it's new move-in date.
What will you cover in today’s demo?
What I'm going to show you is that 10,000 foot view in Turnflow. I'm going to show you the ground-floor workflows, our digital boards, our digital make ready boards, our digital renovation boards. These boards are for scheduling workflows for anything and everything, and they can be used like a simple digital whiteboard or can be used in sophisticated ways to schedule tasks and track personnel. You're also going to see our inspection tool, which, I really do believe is the most configurable, dynamic inspection product on the market.
